Before we start to roast coffee, the beans are green. In Bear's language, we call this a 'grunt'. No one would want to drink un-roasted coffee, so we would not consider this to be a true growl.
Our coffee is roasted in micro-batches by hand and is carefully roasted and packaged to ensure freshness. We are currently accepting orders by request only, so reach out to us if you are interested in trying Bear's Beans.

The first official growl level is called a 'snarl' and is comparable to a light roast. This roast has the highest caffeine content and the brightest flavors.
The next growl level is called a 'true growl' and is comparable to a medium roast. It strikes a good balance between bright flavors and rich smooth tones.
The next growl level is called a 'deep growl' and is comparable to a medium-dark roast. Bear likes this roast for espresso and his signature decaf blends.
The last growl level is called a 'Roar' and is comparable to a dark roast. When Bear takes his roast to this level, he doesn't hold back. Flavors are strong and smokey.
